About Applied Predictive Analytics

Built to prevent the failures others are built to report on.

Applied Predictive Analytics (APA) is a Los Angeles-based predictive infrastructure risk analytics firm serving water and electric utilities. We build systems that surface the signals hiding in your data before a pipe collapses, a fire ignites, or a community loses service.

Our Standards

How we measure success

These four questions are how we catch the drift before it costs you.

Are People Using It?

Adoption is not assumed; it is measured. We track whether your team, your clients, and your stakeholders are actually engaging with the system, and we identify the friction points that are keeping them away.

Is the Data Real?

Clean data is not enough. We verify that what is being collected is consistent, accurate, and relevant to the decisions your organization actually needs to make, not just what the system was originally configured to track.

What Does It Mean?

We do not deliver dashboards and walk away. We translate data into clear evidence of impact — the kind that satisfies funders, informs leadership, and demonstrates that your programs are working.

Is it Integrated?

Not connected; fully integrated. We ensure every data source, every workflow, and every new tool added over time functions as part of one unified system, not a growing collection of partial solutions.

Our Mission

Applied Predictive Analytics exists to prevent infrastructure catastrophes before they happen — not to report on them after.

Utility executives operate under a hard truth: they are responsible for infrastructure they cannot see in full. Pipes buried for a century, grid assets scattered across thousands of square miles, and sensor networks that generate more data than any operations team can review. The warning signs exist. The question is whether anyone will notice them in time.

APA builds the systems that notice. We combine utility-specific operational data — pipe inventory, material, soil, pressure history, break records, equipment age, vegetation, weather, and real-time telemetry — into continuously-updated risk intelligence that surfaces where the next failure is most likely to occur. Our products predict. Our engagements operationalize. Our outcomes prevent.

The APA Advantage

APA Advantage

APA maintains a continuous risk picture across your customer’s territory so every decision is informed by what’s happening upstream and downstream; not just within your own infrastructure.

Founded 2024. Headquartered in Los Angeles. Serving utilities nationwide.

Built in Los Angeles

Embedded where the risk is.

APA is headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles, inside the Southern California infrastructure footprint we serve. Our primary market is Metropolitan Water District (MWD) member agencies — the 26 cities and water agencies that deliver drinking water to 19 million Southern Californians — along with the electric utilities and fire agencies operating in the state’s highest wildfire-risk zones.

California has what no other state has: the largest water wholesaler in the United States, the grid-ignition exposure of a decade of escalating wildfire seasons, and a regulatory environment that expects utilities to prove prevention, not just report failure. Being located here means APA is embedded in the conditions our products were built to address.
